Identity

On the same morning of the sunrise, I decided to get a bit creative. I kind of feel that these photographs (except for the first) represent my identity. Identity is not only the colour of your eyes or your blood type; there's so much more.

My charm necklace is something that I simply never take off. My mum gave it to me as a good luck charm. She'd been collecting the charms from when she was my age, and when she gave it to me she added an 's' to make it personal. Since then I've added a Rose Quartz gemstone and two lovely charms that my best friend gave me. So so special.

I feel that the bracelet on my wrist is as much a part of me as anything else. My nana gave it to me for my eighteenth birthday and I haven't taken it off since. It was passed down from her mother; who knows how old it is.

The photograph of my shoulder shows something far more recent, and I suppose that it's a bit of a 'spot the tattoo' game. I have a very subtle pink outline of blossom on my shoulder. This is special to me as pink blossom is said to represent the end of depression; something that I am proud to have overcome. I plan to get the tattoo filled in next month, but I do like its subtlety and I will try to keep it by making the tattoo as pale and slight as possible.

Sunrise

Recently I went camping in the Lake District. On the last morning I awoke particularly early; at about 6. Spontaneously I decided to take my diary and camera and sit on a fence overlooking a field and mountains. I witnessed the sunrise and it was one of the most beautiful things. To be in such stunning English countryside, in complete quiet with only my thoughts was absolutely perfect. It really made me appreciate how lucky I am on so many levels; for my family, for my friends, for the holiday I was experiencing, for everything.

A new romantic

And I'm sorry to whichever man should meet my sorry state, watch my steady lonesome gate and beware. I would never love a man 'cause love and pain go hand in hand and I can't do it again.

Missing

Very old photos... maybe taken sometime in 2006, when I first discovered my love for photography and long exposures.

Origami romance

A stop motion animation that I did in October 2009. Just experimenting with the equipment in the animation department. It's not at all perfect; there are lots of mistakes, but we weren't given much time. Looking back there are loads of things that I'd like to change/improve.

Movement

A selection of photographs from a project that I did a year or so ago entitled Movement. I looked at different ways to capture movement, from super-imposing and editing, to simply capturing the models movements.
